Having fun with shots of Crown to kick off spring.
Happy New Year from the very cold and Windy City! Despite the frigid temperatures outside, the studio has been hot to start 2014. We've made some new friends and worked with some familiar faces over the past few weeks. Here's a fresh look at a classic product we shot in the studio.
I've been adding to my portfolio of work and here is a new shot that I did including a short vid of the set that I used to achieve it. The softness of the shadows and highlights coming through the bottle were achieved by airbrushing dulling spray onto the bottle.
I've been loving shooting with my new camera and have posted some new work on my site that I've been capturing with it. I'm also very excited to show recent work that I've done for Milk and Jack Daniel's via Draftfcb. Pours and splashes are a real passion of mine, and its always an honor to be shooting but particularly so when you have a team that lets you run with an idea as they did on both projects.
Got all my new equipment in last week... Phase One w/ P65 back and two new iPads. The P65 is a place holder until the IQ180 I purchased ships but if its as much of an upgrade as expected from the already very impressive P65 I can't wait to see the full production quality images. The iPads are all part of the new Phase workflow. I can now have images relayed to the pads in real time so clients can view and rate the images without having to move from their seats. At first it seemed a bit gimmicky but has proven to be very useful in various ways, including giving the food stylists a monitor on set to see the exact postion of adjustments discussed. All in all, my clients have been just as pleased as I have with the new upgrades.
I've added a blog to my new site to keep people in touch with what's going on at the studio. Feel free to post comments and check out my work.
